A while ago, some of my students suggested to me that I become a writing coach. I took this suggestion to heart and when I sat down and thought about it, I realized that it would be something I wanted to do. So here I am doing it.

Already when I work with students my goals are to inspire and encourage them to create, to get them to commit to spending time on the page, and to work with them on their craft. These same goals carry over into my coaching.

I hope you will consider working with me. At the very least, we’ll have fun. At the most, we will end up with a project you feel proud of.

If you choose to work with me as your writing coach, I will:

• Read, critique, and provide developmental editing on your manuscript.
• Teach you about the craft of writing.
• Give you feedback and encouragement about your writing and writing life.
• Help you organize your thoughts.
• Help you work on how to best structure your project.
• Help you design a realistic schedule.
• Hold you accountable to target goals and dates.
• Help keep you motivated and encouraged
• Help you revise.
• Help you navigate the business of publishing (including how to write a query letter and find the right market for your work).

HOW IT WORKS:

You send me five pages of your work to review

We set up a free 15-minute initial consultation via the phone

• • After the consultation you decide whether you want to move forward with me
  • If you do, I create a plan for how to proceed
  • Once you sign off on the plan, we get to work
  • We can work together in a variety of ways: Online using chat/Skype, on the phone using, or in person. We can also combine a variety of these ways of meeting

Per Page Rate (for pieces under 100 double-spaced, 12pt font pages) $10 per page ($80 minimum)

Bulk Rate (for manuscripts over100 double-spaced, 12pt font pages) $1,000 – $2,500, depending on word count.

Hourly: $50/hour consultation rate for writers looking for more general guidance about craft issues, writing discipline, or publication advice.
